Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Associate to join our Oncology team at Humber River Regional Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional clerical support, ensuring seamless patient registration, appointment scheduling, and record maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support, including patient registration, appointment booking, and maintenance of patient records, adhering to registration standards and data quality.
  • Complete messages and tasks from physicians and other team members using the Meditech Oncology module system.
  • Offer exceptional customer service, including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and communicating registration and appointment activities to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Communicate registration information with internal and external departments to facilitate appointments.
  • Support care team members in data collection processes required by Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma an asset.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent recent clerical experience required, preferably in an ambulatory oncology setting.
  • Good keyboarding skills, with minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Meditech's Oncology Module and Community Wide Scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
