Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Project Lead to oversee and coordinate the performance, scope, and deliverables of significant project streams or multiple streams at Manitoba Public Insurance.

About the Role

  • This includes managing direct and indirect project staff, as well as consultants and vendor partners to ensure successful delivery within expected timelines and desired quality outcomes throughout various releases.
  • You will organize and lead the project stream in developing and executing project plans using Agile methodology, practices, and ceremonies based on direction and priorities established by Operational Business Champion and stream leads.
  • Manage the stream schedule, milestones, deliverables, and action items for projects, ensuring seamless execution according to the plan and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Create, execute, and manage project stream plans following Agile principles, with a focus on integrated deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across different streams, along with associated risks.
  • Organize and oversee the release of key deliverables for acceptor/approver, maintaining open communication channels throughout the process.
  • Identify and mitigate interdependencies and constraints between streams to reduce delivery risk, providing recommendations on best practices to meet expected timelines and quality deliverables.
  • Log, maintain, and escalate RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) on behalf of the project stream using Azure DevOps, ensuring timely resolution of issues and risks.

Requirements

  • A degree in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, designation, or equivalent, with supplementary courses in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Risk Management, Program Management, and Agile Project Management being an asset.
  • A minimum of eight years' related experience, including five years managing medium to large projects and special initiatives, with a proven track record of delivering high-visibility projects involving large scope and budgets, multiple system changes, and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communication, contract awareness, conflict resolution, and vendor management skills, with a preference given to candidates with exceptional experience in these areas.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of $120,000 per annum, reflecting the complexity and scope of this role.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings and employee assistance programs.
