Job Title: Director, Software Engineering

Agfa HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Software Engineering to lead our Waterloo R&D site. As a key member of our Global R&D team, you will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and motivating a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the site by coaching, mentoring, and engaging the Waterloo development organization.
  • Clearly and regularly communicate the Agfa HealthCare vision and R&D vision to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Ensure the delivery of software releases on time, in scope, and with quality.
  • Develop a technical vision and viewpoint, and align it across sites and with the overall AGFA HealthCare technical roadmap.
  • React to customer complaints and defects to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Act as site-specific engineering liaison for technical business issues.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are in place to meet customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and project management experience.
  • Full stack development of large-scale enterprise applications, Java, Cloud & Cloud Native development expertise, healthcare industry experience.
