Job Title: Director, Software Engineering

Agfa HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Software Engineering to lead our Waterloo R&D site. As a key member of our Global R&D team, you will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and motivating a team of experienced software engineers to deliver high-quality software products on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the site by coaching, mentoring, and motivating the Waterloo development organization to achieve business results.
  • Clearly and regularly communicate the Agfa HealthCare vision and R&D vision to ensure alignment and progress towards deliverables.
  • Use communication and influencing skills to connect with other R&D sites and teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure the spreading of knowledge and building bench strength for key positions.
  • Lead the team to deliver software products with quality, on time, and efficiently.
  • Ensure delivery of software releases in time, scope, and quality.
  • Perform goal setting, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to drive team success.
  • Develop a technical vision and viewpoint, aligning it across sites and with the overall AGFA HealthCare technical roadmap.
  • React to customer complaints and defects to increase customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and project management experience.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks that may impact project delivery.
  • Full stack development of large-scale enterprise applications, Java, Cloud & Cloud Native development expertise, and healthcare industry experience.
