Job Summary

The Senior Community Nursing Lead is responsible for ensuring the delivery of care and service to clients while maintaining compliance with internal and external standards of practice.

This role requires effective coordination of clinical education and in-service activities as requested.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Conduct assessments or arrange for initial and ongoing assessments of clients requiring licensed and unlicensed care and services as appropriate.
  2. Develop and/or ensure that care plans are available for clients; visit clients as required and update care plans as necessary.
  3. Supervise and support unlicensed employees to ensure compliance with all federal and provincial legislated standards of practice, as well as company policies and procedures.
  4. Lead or assist with integrating client satisfaction initiatives, addressing referred client concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
  5. Collaborate with the Client Service Coordinator in coordinating services.
  6. Coordinate the in-service education program for Field employees, maintaining accurate records.
  7. Assist with implementing Modified Work Programs for Field employees.
  8. Participate in business development as needed, assisting with developing contractual agreements for client care and services as requested.
  9. Promote Bayshore through participation in local healthcare or business committees, as well as community events.
  10. Complete other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Education

Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program; current registration in good standing with the provincial regulating body.

CPR certification is also required.

Experience

At least five years of recent experience with progressive supervisory responsibilities, preferably in a community setting.

A strong track record in leading training program development and evaluation, as well as people management and policy interpretation, is essential.

Business development experience is preferred.

Other Attributes and Requirements

Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations objectively and consistently.

Ability to work independently and effectively lead a team.

Above-average report writing and communication skills, with both Field and Administrative employees.

A valid driver's license and auto insurance are also required.

Solid knowledge of community nursing principles, practices, and methods, as well as program development, implementation, and evaluation.

Clear police clearance and negative TB test results are mandatory.
