The Opportunity:
As a Senior Practice Consultant - Associate Chief Nursing Officer with Alberta Health Services, you will play a key role in transforming clinical practice across the organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that drive quality patient care and improve health outcomes.
About the Role:
In this senior leadership position, you will lead a team of professionals responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on professional practice standards, clinical education, and practice consultation services. Your focus will be on facilitating solutions for the transition and integration of Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) into Alberta's healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement electronic nursing clinical tools to support continuous quality improvement and safe patient care
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop health discipline-specific policy, standards, clinical education, and guidelines aligning with provincial strategic direction
* Oversee comprehensive measures of education effectiveness and advance improvements in standardization
* Provide change management and effective communication within a rapidly changing environment
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with applicable licenses and designation
* Minimum five years' experience in healthcare practice consultation, leadership, or professional development roles in large, complex organizations
* Strong tactical and operational thinking skills with ability to assess options and implications
* Practical experience in professional practice learning and development, project management, and written communication
* Master of Nursing degree or equivalent
* Wide scope of experience in clinical education
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and knowledge of electronic nursing clinical resources
