The Glenrose Hospital is a leading tertiary rehabilitation centre renowned for excellence in complex care. Our older adult program, 4C, is a 37-bed unit providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with complex medical needs.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on our team, you will play a key role in facilitating patient care plans through interprofessional collaboration. You must be able to promote patient safety, comfort, independence, and dignity, with extensive experience working with older adults.

This position requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, providing continuous bedside nursing care while working on your feet for extended periods. You will assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including lifting/transferring and toileting.

You will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and Alberta Health Services policies and procedures will guide your practice.

Your primary focus will be on delivering safe, quality patient- and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

In addition, you will need:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in acute med/surg, preferably with adults or older adults in a hospital setting
  • Recent experience with Connect Care training
  • FIM certification
  • Alaris pump/IV therapy expertise
