Overview

At KPMG in Canada, you'll be part of a diverse and dedicated team of problem solvers, connected by a common goal: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities worldwide.

As a senior member, you will work closely with KPMG Partners on tax planning initiatives and requirements. Your organizational skills will enable you to direct the work of junior staff, including reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness. Additionally, you will research and prepare tax-planning strategies for our clients and take the lead on the preparation of tax returns. The ideal candidate enjoys the spotlight and sets the standard for junior staff, by providing ongoing support and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leading client engagements.
  2. Working closely with a Partner as a senior team member on tax planning work for clients.
  3. Planning and organizing teams for the preparation of tax returns and conducting and presenting tax research.
  4. Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
  5. Becoming part of the tax engagement team in servicing the planning and compliance needs of clients.
  6. Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.
  7. Collaborating with other office members in attracting new work to the firm.
Requirements

  1. Minimum 5 years specializing in tax in a public accounting firm.
  2. Professional accounting designation.
  3. Enrolled in or completed the In Depth Tax course.
  4. Excellent people management skills.
  5. Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth.
  6. Excellent client service skills with the ability to understand the clients business.
  7. Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism in the performance of duties.
  8. Emphasizing quality and adding value in client offerings and services.
  9. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  10. Effectively managing conflicting demands and priorities.
  11. Giving others the opportunity to take on new tasks and responsibilities.
  12. Able to instill enthusiasm in others to achieve desired results and provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questions.
