Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing Indigenous Health's contribution to gathering, synthesizing, translating, and disseminating Indigenous Health knowledge and practice across Northern Health.

This role involves partnering with Northern Health's internal research, quality, evaluation, and education leaders to lead, cultivate, and facilitate system-level strategic and service delivery planning activities that inform executive and senior management decision-making regarding Indigenous Health. The Director will guide and inform the development and provision of related educational programming, IPL services, and other direct services provided by Indigenous Health.

The Director will lead the development of strategy recommendations in the area of quality improvement, evaluation, education planning, and accountability as it relates to Indigenous Health. As part of the Indigenous Health leadership team, the Director will develop, implement, monitor, and adjust related policies, procedures, and practices.

Key Qualifications

  • A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to completion of a Master's degree in business, accounting, health administration, or other relevant field of study, plus seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in a large, complex public sector environment.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and leaders.
  • Sound understanding of and commitment to the application of continuous quality improvement principles and practices.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to deal with all levels in the organization as well as various external groups.
