Job Overview

Northern Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist to lead and promote the integration of information technologies and clinical change initiatives.

This role will automate and/or enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems in collaboration with clinical leaders, service and program managers and directors, physicians and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical subject matter expertise at all stages of the system life cycle
  • Translate clinical requirements, lead teams and contribute to project planning, budgets and implementation schedules
  • Participate in recruitment and provide coaching, supervision and evaluation of staff
  • Serve as the liaison between clinical areas and IT, analyzing, prioritizing and translating user needs and requests to clinical information systems
Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health care or health informatics discipline
  • Current full practicing registration with the applicable provincial College or Association (for regulated health care professional candidates)
  • Relevant professional development in areas of IM/IT, process improvement, change management, project management, group facilitation
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years recent, related experience in clinical operations and/or clinical systems facilitation
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $88,990-$111,237 per year, based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Northern Health Authority offers comprehensive benefit packages, including extended health/dental and a municipal pension plan for part-time and full-time employees. Casuals have the option of paying for benefits.
