About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at LifeLabs in Richmond Hill, ON. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth collection and transportation of medical specimens.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, obtain required information, and explain the specimen collection process to ensure all necessary test protocols are followed.
  • Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and conduct ECG tracings as needed.
  • Collect special test samples, including medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials, while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, responding promptly to inquiries and following up on requests in a timely manner.
  • Complete patient data entry, requisition information, and other relevant documentation for processing test results.
  • Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Phlebotomy experience with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict standards of privacy.

Our estimated salary range for this role is $24.02 - $28.05 per hour, based on the location and requirements outlined above.
