About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at HIMCAN CONSTRUCTION & RENOVATIONS INC. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed layouts and plans in accordance with building codes and regulations, utilizing measuring tools and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials, to create high-quality structures and fixtures.
  • Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, ensuring precise fit and finish.
  • Conduct site surveys and level checks to ensure accurate building locations and levels.
  • Estimate costs and materials required for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial properties, including wooden structures in various settings, such as mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Requirements
  • Bondable and reliable individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and handling heavy loads.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding role.
