Retail Business Development Lead

Job Title: Sr. Sales Director – Retail Team LeadThis role is crucial for accelerating business growth by selling our comprehensive digital and in-store capabilities. You will be dedicated to supporting our highest priority and strategic retail clients, ensuring exceptional service and fostering strong relationships while delivering on our promise of mutual shared growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Business Development/Client Acquisition: Represent and expand NRS capabilities at assigned Retail Clients. Working closely with retail Category/Merchant leadership, uncover additional CPG opportunities. Secure meetings with potential clients and retailers to present Neptune's omni-channel solutions and demonstrate how they meet client needs. Develop a robust pipeline of prospects and convert them into loyal customers.
- Solution Selling: Understand clients' marketing needs and challenges. Present and sell customized solutions that align with their objectives, utilizing our range of products and deliver solutions that align to client's retailer specific JBP.
- Account Management: Oversee current accounts to ensure client satisfaction and drive growth. Cultivate and expand relationships to secure profitable business, aligning performance with company goals and profitability targets.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across retail organizations. Act as a strategic advisor, conveying client priorities in meetings to unlock revenue growth.
- Campaign Development: Create and deliver tailored, data-driven proposals using Neptune's tools and resources. Develop recommendations based on insights, financial forecasts, and industry data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Marketing, Digital Strategy, Consumer Insights, Operations, Finance, Management) to identify and leverage business-driving opportunities. Elevate client proposals and drive forward initiatives.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain a deep understanding of your book of business, providing weekly updates on opportunities, client status, and sales performance. Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth execution of programs from booking to billing. Collaborate with finance, procurement, legal, and business operations to uphold operational standards.
- Retailer Relations: Act as the liaison between Neptune and retailers, ensuring that programs meet retailer priorities and deliver exceptional results. Support internal teams to address retailer needs and drive program success.
- Experience: + years in the consumer-packaged goods industry, including media, advertising, or sales promotion agencies working in a quota carrying sales capacity. Experience with Loblaw Companies Ltd is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the CPG and retail sectors. Experience in Retail Media and Shopper Marketing is essential.
- Proven Results: Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales and profit goals in a BB environment. Track record of managing existing business and uncovering new opportunities.
- Skills: Fearless tenacity and curiosity to pursue new business. Ability to creatively negotiate deals that benefit both the customer and the company.
- Analytical Ability: Highly analytical with a strong grasp of industry data (IRI, Nielsen) to craft tailored selling stories and solutions.
- Communication: Excellent ability to confidently communicate and influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
