Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Assessment Specialist to join our team at the University of Waterloo. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the development and implementation of our undergraduate and graduate programs in Systems Design Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to design and deliver curriculum, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and university policies.
  • Manage and analyze data to inform program development and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate accreditation processes, including site visits and report preparation.
  • Develop and maintain departmental databases and systems to support program operations.
  • Provide academic support to students, including advising and mentoring.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in program assessment and accreditation.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation required.
  • Several years of experience working in an academic environment, preferably in engineering education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
