Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our Impact Assessment and Permitting Team. The successful candidate will have experience in environmental assessment planning and approvals, and will be responsible for conducting policy research, drafting notices and response letters, leading report compilation, and coordinating public events.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct policy research and analysis to inform project decisions
- Draft notices for publishing and coordinate mail out of correspondence
- Draft response letters to stakeholder comments
- Lead report compilation and drafting text for summary documents
- Coordinate public events, including open houses and meetings
- Prepare displays for open houses and create PowerPoint presentations for meetings
- Coordinate environmental specialists and review sub-consultants reports
- Attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes or reports
- Undertake proposal writing and development
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, or a related discipline
- Project experience in a variety of public and/or private sectors, including municipal infrastructure, transportation, transit, waste, and energy
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people
- Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Environmental Assessment legislation
- Class G driver's license and access to a vehicle
