About the Role:

The Program Advisor will play a critical role in fostering student success at Yorkville Education Company. This individual will oversee a calendar of activities that support program participation, including following up with students at-risk of departure and confirming registration in the upcoming term. The Program Advisor will also be responsible for proactively linking students with various services and support mechanisms, such as academic, financial services, IT support, and tutoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure student commitment and engagement by following up with term registrations and resolving any registration issues with the Registrar's Office.
  • Administer withdrawal and re-entry protocols by reaching out to students on leaves of absence and who have withdrawn to offer pathways and services to support re-enrollment.
  • Report on student retention and persistence by preparing at-risk and grade reporting from faculty.
  • Connect students to support services by assisting students in accessing academic, financial, IT, tutoring, housing, and health and wellness services.
Requirements:
  • The education and experience: An undergraduate degree and 2+ years working in student services or customer service.
  • The consultative skills: Asking intelligent questions, actively listening, and approaching problems analytically and creatively.
  • The interpersonal skills: Flexible and effective communication skills, building trusting relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • The technical skills: Highly proficient in MS Office and able to quickly learn how to use our student information systems.
  • The flexibility: Able to work at our Brampton campus three days a week, either 9-5 or 10-6, including one Saturday a month, and open to working extended hours during peak periods for student registration and reporting.
