Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at Cherubs Cove Montessori Childcare Centre Inc. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children and their families.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

The successful candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of educators who share your passion for providing high-quality care and education to children. As a Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children;
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment that protects the well-being of children;
  • Assisting co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties;
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers;
  • Leading activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest;
  • Encouraging children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity;
  • Engaging children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts;
  • Guiding and assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits;
  • Submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors;
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children;
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate;
  • 1-2 years of experience working with children in a childcare setting;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Physically demanding job requiring standing, walking, and lifting;
