Job Overview

The Regional Municipality of Peel is seeking a highly skilled Program Development and Outreach Coordinator - Customer Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Education and Outreach unit, you will be responsible for developing and implementing education and outreach initiatives to support ongoing programs of the Public Works Department.

In this role, you will work closely with internal and external partners to identify focused needs and program synergies. You will also evaluate industry best practices for education and outreach and incorporate results into relevant program initiatives.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Developing and implementing education and outreach initiatives to support ongoing programs of the Public Works Department

- Working closely with internal and external partners to identify focused needs and program synergies

- Evaluating industry best practices for education and outreach and incorporating results into relevant program initiatives

- Providing specialized guidance and advice in the research, development, implementation, and evaluation of education and outreach programs and awareness campaigns

- Supporting the collection and analysis of customer feedback to support process improvements related to Public Works construction projects

- Participating in community outreach and special events such as fairs, home shows, and the Peel Children's Water Festival

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A university degree or technical diploma with relevant studies in science, environment, engineering, or a related field

- At least three years of combined relevant experience

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Demonstrated organization and problem-solving skills

- Proven customer service and public relations skills

- Experience coordinating and overseeing projects or programs

- Strong research and report writing skills

- Strong computer skills, utilizing MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

- Ability to work independently
