About the Role

The Senior Bar Manager will be responsible for overseeing the cocktail and wine program, creating and maintaining bar standards, and driving sales through creative and innovative promotions. This role requires building relationships with suppliers and vendors, as well as leading training in advanced mixology techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expertly manage the overall bar and beverage program, including cocktails, beers, garnishing, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Lead training in advanced mixology techniques and create and maintain service and operational standards for the bar.
  • Liaise with beverage-related suppliers to source new products, promotions, and improved pricing.
  • Communicate the vision to all team members and lead by example, reinforcing the O&B values daily.
  • Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members, and senior management.
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics, and promote the venue at every opportunity.
  • Use conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to strive for maximum efficiency and continual improvement of staff productivity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' mixology and cocktail program creation experience.
  • WSET Intermediate Wine Certificate or comparable an asset.
  • Experience working in both fine dining and casual restaurant bar environments preferred.
  • Extensive beverage knowledge, including traditional cocktails and new, on-trend beverages.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong business acumen and inventory control.
