Job Title: Racing Clocker Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Racing Clocker Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for timing horses during their morning workouts, identifying horses prior to the workouts, recording times and other required information, and liaising with horsemen, staff, and officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Time horses during their morning workouts and record accurate times and other required information.
  • Identify horses prior to the workouts and ensure all necessary information is recorded.
  • Liaise with horsemen, staff, and officials to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as data entry and report preparation.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with thoroughbred horse racing operations and regulations an asset.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including good eyesight and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in close proximity to horses if required.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to focus in a busy environment.
  • Good organizational skills and computer literacy an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal English proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and honesty.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal and credit record check by the Gaming and Policy Enforcement Branch (GPEB) - Racing.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience. Great Canadian Entertainment offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, and pension plan matching.
