Transforming Data into Actionable Business Information

We are seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Data Insights Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of the Selling Partner Services (SPS) organization, you will play a vital role in using data to protect intellectual property and prevent misuse worldwide.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for transforming large datasets into actionable business information, making it accessible to stakeholders globally. Your expertise will help translate analytic insights into concrete recommendations for business improvement, driving operational efficiencies, and uncovering hidden risks and trends.

  • You will develop dashboards that provide valuable insights into the health and state of the business, creating analytics solutions to drive deep dives and measure impact.
  • You will interact with internal program and product owners, as well as technical teams, to gather requirements, design scalable data solutions, and gain a deep understanding of key datasets.
  • You will own the design, creation, and management of extremely large datasets, tuning query performance against complex data sets.
Key Responsibilities

As an Intellectual Property Data Insights Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Transforming data into actionable business information and making it readily accessible to stakeholders worldwide.
  2. Helping translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement.
  3. Developing dashboards that provide insights into the health and state of the business, creating analytics solutions to drive deep dives, and determining ways to measure impact.
  4. Providing insights and analytical solutions to help drive operational efficiencies, uncover hidden risks and trends, reduce investigation errors, improve customer experience, and predict & recommend optimizations for future state.
  5. Interacting with internal program and product owners, as well as technical teams, to gather requirements, structure scalable and performant data solutions, and gain a deep understanding of key datasets.
  6. Owning the design, creation, and management of extremely large datasets.
  7. Tuning query performance against large and complex data sets.
  8. Designing, implementing, and driving adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions, promoting industry-standard best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst, or similar role experience.
  • 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience.
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience.
  • 4+ years of business analyst, data analyst, or similar role experience.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with SQL.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $63,000/year up to $105,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, offering a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits in addition to a competitive salary.
