Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at PEI INC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for planning and preparing meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare menus, estimate food requirements, and requisition supplies
  • Supervise kitchen staff, train new employees, and maintain inventory and records
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Manage kitchen operations, including ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and ensure adherence to food safety protocols
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Basic security clearance
  • Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and physical stamina to perform demanding tasks
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with regular exposure to heat, noise, and physical demands.
