About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Analyst to join our team at First West Credit Union. As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a key role in providing administrative and analytical support to our commercial sales team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the commercial sales team, including reviewing financial statements and identifying potential issues or concerns.
  • Conduct annual reviews on commercial accounts, analyze financial statements, and complete analysis of industry and market data as required.
  • Review and analyze loan applications, including reviewing delinquency reports and connecting with credit services to work on resolution.
  • Complete required paperwork for new credit applications, ensuring all supporting documentation is in place and forwards to commercial experts for review and/or approval.
  • Establish and maintain relationships within the branch network and the business community, promoting the organization's image through participation in community initiatives and events.
Requirements
  • College, Trade or Tech School Diploma (2 years) in a related field required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • 2 years sales and financial analysis experience or equivalent required.
  • Previous knowledge of lending policies, procedures, products, and services preferred.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory requirements influencing the granting and collection of commercial credit preferred.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in financial statement analysis and credit risk management.
  • Proven ability to manage change and identify and act upon continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated resourcefulness in execution of daily activities.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Excel and Word.
