About the Job:


This Senior Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to prepare detailed cost estimates, analyze project specifications, and contribute to strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include leading the estimation process, demonstrating expertise in high-rise construction methodologies, and managing tendering and bidding processes.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for high-rise residential and commercial construction projects, including quantity takeoffs, pricing, and analysis.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of high-rise construction methodologies, local building codes, and industry standards in Canada.
  • Work with design and project teams to provide cost analysis during the planning stages, ensuring budgets align with project goals.
  • Manage the preparation of tender packages, issue bid requests, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing.
  • Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control measures are in place.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to cost estimation, procurement, and construction schedules, providing recommendations to mitigate potential risks.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality or design integrity.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure all project specifications and requirements are met.
  • Provide regular reports on cost variances, budget forecasts, and overall project cost tracking.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you should have:



  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction estimation, with at least 5 years specifically in Canadian high-rise projects.
  • A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as an estimator in Canada, with knowledge of regional market conditions, construction standards, and local regulations.
  • Proficient in estimation software (such as Sage, Procore, or similar) and Excel. Knowledge of BIM software is an asset.
  • Able to analyze complex project specifications, drawings, and documents to produce accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Meticulous in cost estimation, forecasting, and budgeting with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong ability to anticipate potential cost-related challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.


Salary and Benefits:
