Overview


Associated Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Waste Management Engineer to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to utilize your expertise in solid waste management to drive success and growth.



Compensation


The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.



Job Description


This role will involve providing expert advice on solid waste management practices, including landfill design, operation, and closure. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop effective solutions to meet their goals.



Required Skills and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • An undergraduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in solid waste management, preferably in industrial and municipal landfills, transfer stations, and waste diversion;
  • Registration as a professional engineer with APEGA or eligibility to register;
  • Proven application of government and industry regulations, standards, guidelines, design, and specifications in the solid waste environment;
  • Experience with facilitating regulatory and environmental approvals for solid waste facilities;
  • Familiarity with landfill gas systems, evapotranspiration, biocaps, and quantification of greenhouse gases;
  • Familiarity with contaminated sites and AutoCAD, Civil 3D software;
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within western Canada.
