The Government of Nova Scotia seeks an experienced Executive Director to lead its Office of Acadian Affairs and Francophonie.

About Our Opportunity

This strategic role reports directly to the Associate Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister, requiring a strong leader who can foster long-term economic and social growth. The successful candidate will advise senior government officials and engage with various stakeholders on topics related to Acadian Affairs.

Key responsibilities include developing partnerships, collaborating across departments, overseeing program implementation, grant delivery, policy development, and evaluation. A proven track record in management is essential, along with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to condense complex issues into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Experience working with employee relations in a unionized environment and planning, developing, and implementing programs is crucial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for building networks and motivating high-performing teams.

First-hand knowledge and experience working with the Acadian community are key assets, as well as expertise in FPT negotiations and collaboration with education, justice, immigration, and health sectors.

An excellent understanding of current departmental legislation, programs, and policies is required, along with the ability to make decisions and provide advice/recommendations using sound judgment and risk assessment.

A minimum salary of $95,000 CAD per year is offered for this position, based on industry standards and location.
