About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Business Unit Director to lead our Canadian Buildings Engineering division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and implementing strategies, and leading a diverse team of senior specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Growth and Strategy
    • Develop and implement business plans to drive profitable growth and service quality delivery within the unit.
    • Lead the identification and targeting of clients through the delivery of service excellence to drive organic revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives, and reviewing performance.
    • Coach and mentor discipline managers and service managers to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to.
  • Client Relationships and Satisfaction
    • Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction to improve retention and drive organic revenue growth.
    • Lead the identification of talent in the business unit in both technical capability and sales and promote career development.
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Lead the identification and management of risk in service delivery and ensure compliance with governance processes in the business unit.
    • Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the business unit's clients and the market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A licensed Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • At least 10+ years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm.
  • Significant leadership capability, intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Well-developed commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry and demonstrated entrepreneurial behavior.
