Job Title: Business Unit Director

Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for engineering and business growth? Do you have a proven track record of driving success in a professional services firm? We're seeking a highly skilled Business Unit Director to lead our Buildings Engineering team in Canada.

About the Role:

As a Business Unit Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of senior specialists and developing a strategy to drive service quality delivery, service excellence, and profitable growth within the unit. You will work closely with the Business Area Director and other stakeholders to achieve the line of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance and service quality delivery
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy to ensure service quality delivery, service excellence, and profitable growth within the unit
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives, and reviewing performance
  • Develop and implement the business plan for the unit and ensure the team understands it and their role in its achievement
  • Lead the identification and targeting of clients through the delivery of service excellence to drive growth in organic revenue
  • Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction
  • Coach and mentor discipline managers and service managers to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to
  • Lead the identification of talent in the business unit in both technical capability and sales and promote career development
Requirements:

We're looking for a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in Canada with at least 10+ years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization, and be an excellent communicator and skilled at building relationships.

You should also have well-developed commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry and demonstrated entrepreneurial behavior. If you're a motivated and results-driven leader who is passionate about engineering and business growth, we'd love to hear from you
