About the Role


This full-time Registered Practical Nurse position is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, individual and group counselling to individuals in need of support. As part of our Withdrawal Management Services, you will work closely with clients and families, utilizing your expertise to empower positive change.



Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and develop effective care plans
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions, promoting healthy coping strategies and lifestyle changes
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Maintain accurate records, adhering to Brightshores' standards for patient confidentiality and data protection
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance professional development and stay current with best practices


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will require:



Qualifications



  1. A current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
  2. Completion of a Psychiatric Nursing education program
  3. Familiarity with principles and practice of the Recovery Model, case management, and rehabilitation
  4. Extensive knowledge of current best practices in the treatment of substance abuse and concurrent disorders
  5. Psycho/social and mental status assessment skills
  6. Ability to communicate positively and professionally with clients, families, and community providers
  7. Minimum two years' experience working in outpatient mental health and/or addiction services
  8. Knowledge of DSM-V and Mental Health Act
  9. Access to reliable transportation, with travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties required
  10. Possession of a valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License and personal vehicle
  11. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities
  12. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with ability to handle high-pressure situations


Salary and Benefits


The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $34.943-$35.967 per hour, commensurate with experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, RRSP matching, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
