  • Explain legislation and ministry initiatives
  • Prepare a range of communication materials
  • Plan and deliver information sessions to clients and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Customer Service and Communication Skills:
    • Provide effective customer service to a client population living with a disability
    • Liaise with community agencies and provide information to clients
    • Resolve conflict situations and demonstrate sensitivity towards diversity/inclusion
    • Conduct interviews with clients by phone or in person using alternative communication approaches
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of community services, resources, policies, programs and issues/barriers affecting clients with disabilities
    • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and acts
  • Analytical, Planning and Organizational Skills:
    • Demonstrate planning and organizational skills to set priorities and meet deadlines
    • Analytical skills to collect, document and evaluate information
