Fresh Water Production Lead

Cooke Inc., a leading global seafood company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Fresh Water Production Lead. Our company is a dynamic and growing east coast family business, with a strong commitment to innovation and excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading key production activities at our various locations, including feeding, grading, vaccination, transports, smolt management, egg and fry incubation, and first feeding. They will also be responsible for leading and motivating teams, coaching and training others, and communicating effectively with team members, managers, and external contractors or suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead key production activities at the facility, including water quality management in RAS
  • Lead and motivate teams, coach and train others to achieve production goals
  • Communicate effectively with team members, managers, and external contractors or suppliers
  • Problem solve and respond to alarms and emergencies
  • Work irregular hours to complete production activities on time
  • Accurately collect, input, and manage data
  • Perform daily hatchery routines and maintain equipment
  • Follow all SOPs, Health and Safety, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating a RAS facility and leading teams is considered an asset
  • The ideal candidate will have completed aquaculture training from a recognized educational institute and have at least 2 years' experience at a salmon aquaculture facility
  • Previous experience with water quality testing would be considered an asset
