About the Role

The Director of Advocacy, Emerging Campuses will advance our Israel and Jewish advocacy agenda on campuses beyond our current reach. Working alongside Hillel's campus directors across the province, the director will play an integral role in managing advocacy issues at non-Hillel-staffed universities across Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • In partnership with our senior leadership team, guide and implement our advocacy strategy on campus.
  • Support advocacy initiatives on Ontario's emerging campuses without a Hillel presence.
  • Identify specific goals and implement strategies in partnership with our advocacy team.
  • Elevate and amplify student perspectives and voices.
  • Create, drive, and report on provincial campus advocacy campaigns aimed at countering antisemitism and promoting Israel.

What You Bring

We are seeking a strategic thinker with formal and informal Jewish and Israel advocacy experience. The director must have a solid understanding of the challenges facing Jewish students on campus in Ontario and be familiar with – and able to teach – the elements of advocacy and activism.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study (Master's would be preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in a Jewish Advocacy role
  • 3+ years of experience with demonstrable leadership and mentorship
  • High level of involvement working with University administration, political organizing, or campus life

Benefits

  • A competitive base salary ranging between $80,000 - $85,000 annually
  • A comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, vision, and dental
  • 15 paid vacation days per year, 2 Mental Health/Wellness days, and 10 paid sick days in addition to paid Jewish and Statutory Holidays
