About the Role

As a Senior Manager of Capital Planning and Asset Management at BGIS, you will be responsible for leading a team of experts in developing and executing asset management programs for our clients. Your specialized expertise in capital planning and implementation will be instrumental in building and executing strategic asset management plans, ensuring the optimal use of resources and minimizing risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute asset management programs for assigned clients, leveraging your expertise in capital planning and implementation.
  • Lead a team of experts in asset management, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the success of the program.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their priorities and needs, tailoring asset management strategies to meet their requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and trust in our services.
  • Monitor and report on the physical and functional state of client asset portfolios, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Responsible for creating strategic asset management plans, program maturity improvement roadmaps, and asset data strategies.
  • Conduct condition assessments of building systems, prepare written reports detailing findings and recommendations, and collaborate with relevant parties to refine and implement asset assessment management processes and tools.
  • Manage team utilization targets, collaborate with finance teams to monitor and meet financial targets, and work with other business service lines to increase revenue.
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, building science, mathematics/statistics, data science, or business management.
  • 6 years of capital planning work experience or related experience, such as capital project delivery, operations & maintenance, statistical forecasting, or infrastructure planning.
  • Thorough understanding of asset assessment and building science principles, including fundamental knowledge of typical building systems and site components.
  • Experience presenting recommendations and securing funding approval from senior and executive management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 55001, Asset Management Standard, and 588/17, Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act.
  • Familiarity with project delivery principles and statistical methods for forecasting.
  • Fundamental knowledge of national and provincial building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Practice E2018-01 "Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property".
  • Fundamental knowledge of general building design, construction, and facility operation.
  • Familiarity with procurement strategies, including private and public sector practices.
  • Experience with asset management software systems.
  • Ability to work with a team and provide direction to staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with presentation abilities.
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn and leverage new data analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering Designation.
  • Asset Management designations.
  • LEED Certification.
  • PMP Certification.
