Job Title: Project Portfolio Lead

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Portfolio Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Project Management Office, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including stakeholder identification, risk management, and communication plans.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management and executives on project-related matters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure that projects are aligned with the organization's business objectives and strategic plans.
  • Develop and maintain complex working relationships with business area stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Manage and mitigate project risks, including identifying and assessing potential risks and developing contingency plans.
  • Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders, including project progress, issues, and risks.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are met, including project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Develop and implement project evaluation and review processes to ensure that projects are meeting their objectives.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in a discipline related to project management, such as business, computing science, or social science.
  • Formal Project Management Certification, such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
  • Agile certification, such as PMI-ACP or Certified Scrum Master.
  • Change management certification, such as Prosci-ADKAR.
  • Five to seven years of experience in a project management environment, with a focus on technology initiatives.
  • Experience working with Agile principles and practices, including Scrum.
  • Experience working with Change Management methodologies, including Prosci-ADKAR.
  • Experience leading projects to comply with legislative or mandated rule changes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
