The Opportunity

The Perimeter Institute seeks a seasoned professional to lead its advancement efforts in strategic development and execution. As the Chief Advancement Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing bespoke private funding strategies to diversify the donor base and build ongoing donor engagement and commitment.

About the Role

You will act as a trusted advisor and partner to the Board, Director, and Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, deepening internal coordination and capacity to deliver at the highest levels. Your direct impact will be felt across the Institute, ultimately contributing to Canada's ability to advance diversity in the sciences and bring together the world's most brilliant minds to achieve scientific breakthroughs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement private funding strategies to diversify the donor base and build ongoing donor engagement and commitment.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor and partner to the Board, Director, and Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, deepening internal coordination and capacity to deliver at the highest levels.
  3. Lead the advancement effort in strategic development and execution, ensuring alignment with the Institute's ambitious advancement mandate.

Requirements

Proven track record in private sector development and fundraising

Strong leadership and strategic planning skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
