Job Summary

Anatomical Pathologist with expertise in Breast Pathology and/or Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology is sought to join a team of laboratory physicians and scientists at Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) in Calgary, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the highest possible standards of practice, including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
  • Actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching.
  • Report directly to the Foothills Medical Centre Site Chief in Calgary.
Qualifications
  • MD degree.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
  • Certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
  • Subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Breast Pathology, Gynecological, or Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology.
Requirements
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Ability to balance service and quality imperative in a resource-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build trust in working relationships.
About the Role

This is a full-time position with a competitive remuneration package, including relocation assistance. The successful candidate will function as a contractor with APL.
