About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anatomical Pathologist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd. as a Diagnostic Expert in Laboratory Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Interpret Diseases: Conduct thorough microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens to diagnose diseases and physiological disorders.
  • Conduct Medical Research: May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods, and study the nature, cause, and development of diseases.
  • Supervise Laboratory Activities: Supervise laboratory activities, including ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Consult with Physicians: Act as consultants to other physicians, providing expert advice on disease diagnosis and treatment.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Developments: Research and report on developments in specialized fields such as medicine, science, and technology.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Experience and Training: 5 years or more of experience in pathology, with specialty residency training and certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, interpersonal awareness, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position in a hospital setting, with a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, and physically demanding tasks. The successful candidate will be willing to relocate and have a criminal record check.
