About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anatomical Pathologist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd. as a Medical Laboratory Specialist. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders, conducting medical research, and supervising laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Research: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders through microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens. Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods.
  • Lab Supervision: Supervise laboratory activities, including ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Consultation and Expertise: Act as consultants to other physicians, providing expert advice and guidance on diagnostic and treatment options.
  • Education and Training: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and technologies.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, with a specialization in pathology.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
  • Certifications: Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II), and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination.
Work Environment

As a Medical Laboratory Specialist at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd., you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to work under pressure, standing for extended periods, and walking. You will also be required to use manual dexterity and have excellent hand-eye coordination.
