We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Legal Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our lawyers, including drafting and formatting legal documents, managing calendars and reminder systems, and facilitating the creation and production of closing books.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and format legal documents, including agreements and correspondence.
  • Screen and direct incoming calls, as well as manage calendars and reminder systems for our lawyers.
  • Facilitate the creation and production of closing books, both paper and electronic copies.
  • Open, close, and maintain legal files.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as expense claims, docketing, billing, scanning, and photocopying.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of solid work experience in a corporate legal environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial legislation, including the Ontario Business Corporations Act (OBCA) and Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA).
