We are seeking an Energy Sustainability Consultant to join our Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) team. This role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across various customer segments.

About the Role

This position will focus on developing and implementing energy-saving projects that align with Hydro Ottawa's CDM objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience working with building systems, energy management, and site investigations, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to identify opportunities for energy savings and develop strategies to achieve them. They will also contribute to the development of business cases, proposals, and reports to support energy-efficient projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement energy-saving projects that meet CDM objectives
  • Analyze customer energy usage patterns and identify areas for improvement
  • Work with customers to develop energy-saving plans and provide guidance on energy-efficient technologies and practices
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop business cases and proposals for energy-efficient projects
  • Conduct site investigations and report writing to support energy-saving initiatives
  • Track and monitor project progress and outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in energy management, building systems, and site investigations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret data and make recommendations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with RETScreen or equivalent energy modeling software is considered an asset
