Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at Okanagan College. As a key member of our Ancillary and Business Services department, you will provide exceptional service to our students, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payments and maintain accurate cash records and proper cash controls.
  • Identify sales opportunities and engage in suggestive selling to enhance store profitability.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by building rapport, providing accurate information, and assisting with product selection.
  • Execute general retail and food service tasks, such as food preparation and ensuring a well-stocked and organized retail space.
  • Set up and replenish items like tea, coffee, condiments, and prepackaged foods, monitoring inventory levels for timely requisitioning.
  • Receive deliveries, verify inventory accuracy against purchase orders, and promptly communicate discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Safely store received deliveries in designated locations, adhering to Food Safe requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to supervisors regarding missed deliveries, short-shipped items, or product quality issues.
  • Conduct daily inventory counts and offer ordering recommendations when requested.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the market and cafeteria seating area.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 is required.
  • Food Safe Certificate required.
  • A minimum of 3 months previous experience in the food industry as a cashier or related experience is required.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Excel (beginner level) and/or cash balancing software is an asset.
