About the Role
This is a dynamic opportunity for a talented CPA to contribute to the growth and ongoing success of our client's team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Corporate Financial Manager will be responsible for full cycle accounting for our Food Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff in the food division to grow their knowledge and abilities.
- Accurately account for transactions in the general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and review working papers that support account balances and investigate any issues.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Review monthly HST returns and payments.
- Analyze accounts and costs for reasonableness and consistency.
- Prepare various analytical and ad-hoc reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end financial statements for presentation to senior management.
- Work with external accountants to facilitate the preparation of externally prepared year-end financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Review and authorize vendor payments.
- Prepare financial reports for senior management as requested.
- Work closely with the Director of Finance on various projects.
- Participate in software advancements.
- Main point of contact for CRA inquiries.
Requirements
- CPA designation.
- Strong computer skills.
- Payroll and benefits knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Experience with a public accounting firm is an asset.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
