Assistant Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team at Next Level Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger accounts and financial reports.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Meet processing and reporting deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Respond to information requests and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain documentation for fixed assets, treasury, and internal/external audits.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting or similar role.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently as a team player.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with good problem-solving and time management skills.
