About the Role

Adecco is seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Labrador City. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structures critical to mining operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design various structures related to mining operations, including plant assets, conveyor systems, and storage facilities.
  • Project Planning and Management: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and execute mineral processing facility and mine operations projects efficiently.
  • Construction Supervision: Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and addressing any design modifications or unforeseen challenges during construction.
  • Quality Control and Safety Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the durability and safety of structures, conduct inspections, tests, and evaluations to verify compliance with engineering standards, and prioritize safety protocols to protect workers and prevent accidents.
  • Maintenance and Rehabilitation: Assess existing structures and equipment for maintenance needs, plan and execute maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to extend the lifespan of assets, and address wear and tear due to harsh mining conditions.
  • Project Reports and Site Investigation: Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, conduct site investigations to assess soil conditions, stability, and geological factors, and use geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
Requirements
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada.
  • Certification: Must be P.Eng.-certified.
  • Experience: Experience in structural design for mining operations, including plant assets, conveyor systems, and storage facilities.
  • Skills: Proficiency in project planning and management, including developing schedules, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards, ability to supervise construction projects, and strong background in quality control and safety assurance.
