About the Role

Adecco Canada is seeking a highly skilled Plant Engineer - Civil/Structural to join their team in Labrador City. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing structural solutions for mining operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Design: Design and develop structural solutions for various mining operations, including plant assets, conveyor systems, and storage facilities.
  • Project Planning & Management: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and execute mineral processing facility and mine operations projects efficiently.
  • Supervising Construction Projects: Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and addressing any modifications or challenges during construction.
  • Quality Control & Safety Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the durability and safety of structures, conduct inspections, tests, and evaluations to verify compliance with engineering standards, and prioritize safety protocols.
  • Maintenance and Rehabilitation: Assess existing structures and equipment for maintenance needs, plan and execute maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to extend the lifespan of assets, and address wear and tear due to harsh mining conditions.
  • Project Reports and Site Investigation: Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, conduct site investigations to assess soil conditions, stability, and geological factors, and use geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
  • Must be P.Eng.-certified
  • Experience in structural design for mining operations, including plant assets, conveyor systems, and storage facilities
  • Proficiency in project planning and management, including developing schedules, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards
  • Ability to supervise construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and addressing any modifications or challenges during construction
  • Strong background in quality control and safety assurance, including conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations to verify compliance with engineering standards and prioritize safety protocols
  • Experience in maintenance and rehabilitation of structures and equipment, including assessing maintenance needs, planning repairs and upgrades, and addressing wear and tear from harsh mining conditions
