Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Faculty Member to join our Simulation Learning Centre team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership support for the Simulation Centre, working closely with programs to develop and deliver simulated clinical experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Provide leadership support for the Simulation Centre, working closely with programs to develop and deliver simulated clinical experiences.
    • Collaborate with simulation faculty to determine appropriate simulation technology applications, scenario content, and integration with curriculum.
  • Scenario Development and Delivery
    • Evaluate effectiveness of simulation experiences and assist in the development of evaluation tools.
    • Collaborate with simulation technicians and coordinators to plan and schedule simulation events, including developing and managing processes for packaging, processing, and distribution of supplies.
  • Policy and Procedure Development
    • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of IPSLC policies and procedures.
  • Inter-professional Learning and Community Engagement
    • Work with programs to create inter-professional learning opportunities in the Simulation Centre.
    • Establish and maintain internal relationships with faculty in the Science and Health and Nursing Divisions.
    • Establish and maintain external relationships with counterparts from other educational institutions, simulation lab professionals, vendors, and community leaders.
  • Professional Development and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with Virtual Campus for development of virtual lab opportunities.
    • Participate in program, division, and campus activities, as well as industry and professional stakeholder activities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, eligible for registration (active status) with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association.
    • A minimum of two years recent and relevant experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
    • Effective interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Instructional and Technical Skills
    • Effective instructional ability.
    • Demonstrated skills and experience in the appropriate selection and use of various technologies and delivery methods to support education and learning activities.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability
    • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
    • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
