We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Faculty member in the Simulation Learning Centre at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership support for the Simulation Centre, working closely with simulation faculty, programs, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality simulation experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership support for the Simulation Centre, collaborating with simulation faculty to determine appropriate simulation technology applications, scenario content, and curriculum integration.
  2. Assist in the development and revision of scenario content, working closely with co-faculty and simulation technicians.
  3. Collaborate with simulation administration and simulation coordinators to plan and schedule simulation events, including developing and managing processes for packaging, processing, and distribution of supplies.
  4. Develop and maintain IPSLC policies and procedures, working closely with simulation faculty and stakeholders.
  5. Assist in the development of evaluation tools to determine the effectiveness of simulation experiences.
  6. Monitor simulation events, evaluating student progress and providing feedback related to simulation experiences.
  7. Work with programs to create inter-professional learning opportunities in the Simulation Centre.
  8. Establish and maintain internal relationships with faculty in the Science and Health and Nursing Divisions.
  9. Establish and maintain external relationships with counterparts from other educational institutions, simulation lab professionals, vendors, representatives of the community, health industry, and health education leaders, nationally and internationally.
  10. Collaborate with Virtual Campus for the development of virtual lab opportunities.
  11. Participate in program, division, Campus, SaskPolytech, industry, and professional or other stakeholder activities.
  12. Evening, weekends, and travel may be required.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, eligible for registration (active status) with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association.
  • A minimum of two years recent and relevant experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
  • Effective interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the appropriate selection and use of various technologies and delivery methods to support education and learning activities.
  • Ability to apply theory, practices, and principles of adult education.
  • Small group facilitation skills and leading, modeling, and teaching interaction skills.
  • Ability to arrange, maintain, and evaluate resources.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
