Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services and support individuals with serious mental illnesses.

Duties and Responsibilities

">
  • Conduct thorough assessments: Utilize recognized occupational therapy and psychosocial rehabilitation tools to screen and assess clients' functional capacity, occupational performance status, and environmental supports.">
  • Develop individualized plans: Collaborate with clients, their support systems, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement personalized rehabilitation plans that address their unique needs and goals.">
  • Provide direct interventions: Offer individual and group sessions to support clients in achieving their objectives and promoting independence.">
  • Facilitate community connections: Establish relationships with local agencies and service providers to ensure seamless access to life skills, education, employment, and leisure programs.">
  • Communicate effectively: Share information and insights with team members, clients, and family members to facilitate coordinated care and optimal outcomes.">

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

">
  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university">
  • Two years of recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community setting">
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)">
  • Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT-BC)">
  • A valid B.C. driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business use">
