Collage HR is seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Justice Advocate to join our team. As an advocate, you will play a vital role in reducing the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in the criminal justice system.

About the Role:

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $112,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will be based in Vancouver, Surrey, or Chilliwack, BC, with the option for a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal representation for clients facing criminal charges and child protection matters, focusing on culturally safe and Indigenous-led approaches.
  • Advocate for diversion from formal court systems to less intrusive measures, including Indigenous intervention protocols and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Indigenous communities, service providers, and government agencies to ensure access to culturally safe programs and services.

As an advocate, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, their families, and community members to address complex issues affecting Indigenous peoples. Your expertise in local and urban Indigenous cultures, as well as your ability to provide a culturally safe environment, will be invaluable in this role.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong organizational, case management, and communication skills. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are essential. Membership in a Canadian Law Society, preferably British Columbia, is required. J.D. or equivalent experience in litigation is an asset.
