Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Support Services Attendant to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a Support Services Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfection, waste collection and disposal, and linen distribution.
  • Prepare, assemble, deliver, serve, and store food products in patient care and cafeteria settings.
  • Port patients within the facility and manage supply of transfer equipment.
  • Receive and process hospital deliveries, validate and deliver items to departments, and enter items into electronic supply chain database.
  • Arrange hospital shipments and maintain supply levels, reviewing shortages and rotating stock as required.
Requirements
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Experience in healthcare Environmental Cleaning or Food Services Department
  • Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferred
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtaining
  • Food Service Worker Program Certificate preferred
  • MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Excellent record of dependability
  • Ability to work well independently and contribute to a team environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to carry out physical aspects of the job
  • WHMIS Training
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and all other equipment preferred
Working Conditions

The physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, and periodic climbing, including ladders, operation of floor machines, and other equipment.
